Condolences

Dear Marlene and Marianne: Better known as the twins.. I knew your family and my friend Marcia when you lived on 101 Street in the 1950's. I also remember getting blamed for putting Red Nail polish on your mom's white sheets hanging on the clothes line, blowing in the breeze. Your mom was not happy.... I remember when your Mom and Dad moved to Strathearn Drive and the chinchilla's in the garage. Many fine memories, but I will miss Marcia's whit and intelligence all through her struggles with MS. I visited her a few times in her home and marvelled how she handled it with the help of Home Care. I thought of her every Christmas as I sent out my Christmas Wishes. I know she will be smiling down at your family and her memory I will hold dear. RIP Marcia. Maureen Mark (Nee: Ooley)

Dear Marlene, Marianne and all the Albrecht extended family, My most sincere sympathy to you on the death of Marcia. As you know, she was my best friend while at boarding school, and we have kept in contact ever since. The obituary was so right in proclaiming Marcias many talents. Above all I will remember her for her constant cheerfulness in the face of difficulties, and her great love for her family. It was a pleasure to be able to visit Marcia the last time I was in Edmonton- about 4 years ago. I now feel that I have another friend in heaven, and know that she will be watching out for me, and for each of you.

I don't even know what to say other than " I miss Marcia" We shared so many things together and truly she was a most dear friend. Marcia and I met when I was still in High School! I came there to work with the Home Ec. department on a pilot project .... and we connected way back then. Marcia was my Mentor. It was she that supported and encouraged me as I went through University and then followed in her footsteps. We always had a "school discussion" of some sort. Years into our friendship we discovered that our family acquaintance went back even further. It was when I met you, Marlene! I remembered your beauty from the hair salon my Mom always went to with me in tow. It was Marvelle - how cool was that..... Marcia was a true friend. She shared in the joy and in the growing of my children. I still have the "baby basket" we made together. She was so amazing, so talented and so incredibly gifted. My kids knew Marcia well, we often visited and she always had the best toys to play with! I went often with Marcia to the Gift Show. She loved that, as did I. So much to see and her creative eye always found the neatest stuff! Our lives were connected, and we shared so much. She always was positive and happy. Marcia and I have many memories, and that friendship has been a great blessing for me. She will me missed but never ever forgotten. Marcia, now is happy and she will be our creative guidance from above. Do keep in touch.

My sympathy to you, Marlene, and all family of Marcia. I was a classmate of Marcia's in 1962 and thrilled at her talent in the Pirates of Penzance. Those scenes replay in my mind. It is many years since my son and I visited with Marcia and she was so gracious and inspiring to us. I will miss her, but she continues to live in my heart and nourishes my soul. God Bless!

Donna and I are thinking of your family and our prayers are with you all today. We remember Marcia as being so artistic and musical. She was such a strong person to make such a productive life in spite of her difficulty with M.S. We remember the good times we had with the productions at the convent!
