I was so sad to hear of Gord's death . Kenji died Nov 15th 2011 but I know that he treasured his friendship with Gord and until his dementia robbed him of his memory he reminisced so often about the internment and Gord's fight. So sad that both succumbed to the same totally rotten disease. I guess I can sincerely say that I know what you are going through. Very hard with some days better than others. I also read about the Human rights award presented at the NAJC AGM in October. Very much deserved. My sympathy to you all. Sue O

It was a great honour for me to meet Gordon and his family. His life is an inspiration to people seeking peaceful solutions to war.It underlines the importance of civil liberties, expressing ourselves , the harm that can be done on profiling on stereotypes. He challenged those peacefully and survived internment to bring more knowledge and understanding to the students around him in many parts of the world. We are losing many of his generation and committment but we know they have left a wonderful legacy for us.I enjoyed sharing sometime with him watching Yoyo Ma and Japanese Master Kabuki actor Tamasboro Bando perform the Fifth of Bach solo Cello suites-very much about peace and reconciliation.I know you will all carry on his legacy
