Margaret "Peggy" Robblee

Condolences

My name is Linnie (Eaglesham) Chamberlin and my parents, John and Norma Eaglesham were long-time friends of Peg and Alex, and my sister, Doris, and I remember them so well from our Edmonton days. There was always so much laughter when Peg and Alex were at our house, and serious discussions, too. They were a lovely couple, and they always talked to us kids. Even when my dad became the District Agriculturist for Red Deer and we moved there, we still saw your family occasionally and my mom and Peg wrote often, so we heard about each of you children as you were born, and about your family. I know the Robblee family was from Cayley, as was my dad, and I met some of his family when my Uncle Hugh celebrated his birthdays into his 90s at Cayley. Peg and Alex (we always called them Mr and Mrs Robblee) celebrated many years together, and were always so proud of their family. The write-up in the Journal was just perfect, capturing Peg's unique and loving person. Doris and I send our sincere condolences, and mourn the loss of a lovely, lovely woman.

Jim, Neil,Jean and Nancy and your families, My thoughts are with you as you celebrate your mother s life-it was a long and accomplished life with your father. They were are part of the generation who built strong relationships and communities, encouraging life-long skills of education and search for new knowledge. They knew the value of activities to learn game theories-through bridge and poker, gardening and many other things you well know. I have many memories of them over the years. There were so many people who were related and close friends. As I grew I got to know more of them. I will remember us walking in Pleasantview where we were both walking-chatting comfortablely about life-our Enid s sister Doris who I grew to know much differently as I struggled to care for her and my father. The rebellious grandchildren-we know the Robblee s did challenge the status quo and the grandchildren would go through the turmoil that the rest of us had-but Grandma Robblee had done her time in the trenches of parenthood and had much wisdom-learning is not a straight line and life challenges us all.She has left much for you all-I see Jean and see her mother of many years ago. I see her 3 surviving grandsons and see parts of Alex and Peggy-it will serve them well
