Condolences

Dear Nix-family, I extend my heartfelt condolences to you all on the loss of the head of your family. It is almost 30 years ago, October 1985, that I had the pleasure of organizing a small group of four to undertake a trekking expedition to the Everest base camp at 5,364 m. (17,598 ft.). Nelson was a member of that group, and at 70 years of age, our senior. He was an excellent trekking companion and throughout our two-week tour of Nepal, his pleasant and good-natured personality added much to the enjoyment of our venture. My brief association with Nelson these many years ago is still very vivid in my mind. Sincerest sympathy and best wishes, Dr. Ernest Reinhold

We have wonderful memories of Nelson and Nancy Nix and all of you, their family, at Wesley Church, fifty years ago. We were good friends of Ernie and Margaret in Calgary and when Wesley Church in Edmonton was seeking a minister, Nelson as Chair of the committee, called me. We came to Wesley Church in July 1963. Nelson and Nancy were strong leaders of the congregation and we appreciated their friendship. We have good memories of visiting in your home on many occasions. I remember when Nelson went to Nepal to work with the doctors there. Their equipment was so old that he said he couldn't have used it if he had not been in the army in France during World War 2. We send our sincere sympathy and best wishes to all of you as you remember the life and contributions to society of our friend, Dr. Nelson Nix Helen and Don Mayne.

Our sincere sympathy to you all for the loss of your father. Several years ago we had a lovely visit with your parents, Aunt Amy and Uncle Nelson at their home while we were on a trip west and I am so glad to have that memory as well as the memories of many other visits over the years. A very special couple and a very dear Aunt and Uncle. With love and deepest sympathy, Your cousin, Janie.
