Obituary

It is with sadness the family of Sarah May Jackson of St. Albert announces her passing on September 1, 2015 at the age of 92 years.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Jack (Linda Haigh) Reader of Morinville; grandsons: Todd (Sandra) Reader of Edmonton, and Kent Reader of Calgary; great grandchildren: Caitlin and Sarah; and her brother, Roy (Mary) McGowan of Edmonton. She will be greatly missed by many.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ken Jackson in 1974; daughter, Judith Anne Reader in 2008; brothers: Glen in 1979, and George in 1999.

She was a strong woman, raising her daughter on her own. She accepted her Commission from the Canadian Armed Forces during WWII and later worked as a bank teller and clerk with the Federal Government. In her younger years, Sarah was very active in the Royal Canadian Legion and was a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She had been living in the Northridge Lodge for the past eight years and made many friends there.

Please join family and friends in a Celebration of Sarah May�s Life at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 271, 6 Tache Street, St. Albert, Alberta. Interment will take place in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery (International War Graves), Regina, Saskatchewan, at a later date.
