Obituary
It is with heavy hearts, the family of Joan announce her peaceful passing on November 13, 2015 at the age of 79 years. Joan will be forever loved and remembered by her husband Norman of 57 years; daughter Kelly (Michael); four grandchildren, Jameson, Danita (Phil), their three children, Kurtis, Elise (Chris), their two children; sister Gwen Smith; extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her son Rick. Joan graduated from UBC and enjoyed a successful teaching career with the Edmonton Public School Board. She loved children and they loved her. She was so many things to so many people. Her qualities as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, her talents as an artist and poet, and so many other admirable traits will be missed with great sadness. Death may have taken Joan from us, but nothing can take away our memories of her. Godspeed.
