James 'Jim' Ranald John Surmon

Obituary

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Jim slipped into the arms of the angels after superb nursing care at the Misericordia Hospital. He is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Jessie; sister Marilyn; brother Bert; and nephew Albert. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Joyce (Aitken); daughter Theresa Zip (David); sons, David (Lisa) and Dan (Linda). He had six 'apples of his eye' grandchildren: Larissa, Kyle, Greg, Sam, Erin and Emma.

Proud alumni of St Joe's High School (1952) wearing his lucky number #72 football jersey, Jim made life-long friends in his school years and his career. Finance, travel, golf and real estate were passions that kept him active well into his eighties. He enjoyed the Edmonton Eskimos and Oilers in person when he could, and on the screen when he couldn't. His big, warm heart just wore out, and left a hole in ours with his passing.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday Oct 14 at Annunciation Church, 9420-163 Street NW, Edmonton.

In lieu of flowers, Jim would appreciate any donations to the Misericordia Hospital at covenantfoundation.ca.

In Loving Memory of
James 'Jim' Ranald John Surmon
