Obituary

John �Jack� Henry Messenger passed peacefully at home on April 1, 2020.

He is remembered by his wife, Barbara; sons, Brian and Gary; daughter, Sandi (Boris Maik); and grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Nolan.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Hilda Messenger; sister, Vera McIntyre; and in-laws, Fred and Bess Murray.

Jack graduated from Scona High School and was involved in various sports and teen clubs in Edmonton. He then progressed to attending all of the Edmonton Eskimo games and became a season ticket holder to the Edmonton Oilers when they first entered the WHA.

Jack worked at Eaton�s for a few years before he joined the Royal Canadian Navy. Following his years in the RCN, he returned to Edmonton and gained employment with Alberta Government Telephones. Jack started a new career, working for Western Air Lines in Edmonton followed by 2 years in Los Angeles, California. Upon returning to Edmonton, he worked for Baker Oil Tools and various trucking companies before retiring from the work force.

Jack was a member of the Masonic Lodge � much to the delight of his dad, who was a 50-year member. Jack received his own 50-year pin in 2016.

Burial has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
