Obituary
It is with deep sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of Tiny van der Werf at the age of 91.
She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband of 67 years, Huibert "Bert" van der Werf; their children: Eric (Diane), and Cora (Brian) Krywko. Oma to grandchildren: Theresa, Christopher (Amanda), Amanda (Jesse), Sarah (Jarret), Samantha (Miguel) and great grandchildren, Taylor, Jocelyn, Terah, Quinn, Peyton, Grace and Bishop. She is also survived by numerous family members in Holland.
Born in Rotterdam and newly married in 1953, leaving family and friends, Tiny and Bert sailed across the ocean to start their new life in Edmonton. Tiny was a skilled seamstress and along with Bert enjoyed many hobbies such as square and round dancing, rock hunting, camping and spending time at the cabin. Oma enjoyed taking her grandchildren to the lake, swimming, the park and many other activities. She was a strong believer in passing down her Dutch heritage to her grandchildren and telling many stories about her life as a young woman in Holland. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
