Obituary
Kathren passed away peacefully on October 31, 2020 at the age of 106.
She was an Alberta girl, born on the family farm in Hardisty. She
married John Hartley in 1938 and together they made a home in
Edmonton where they raised five children.
Kathren was a warm, resourceful and resilient woman with a lively wit.
She was a skillful seamstress and knitter and a keen opera lover.
She was adored by her family and will be lovingly remembered by her
children; John, Linda (Owen)De Bathe, Daniel (Sylvia), Patrick (Brenda);
her 9 grandchildren and; 11 great grandchildren.
Kathren was predeceased by her loving husband John; son Gerald; and
by her parents Gertrude and George Wilkening.
The family wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff of the
Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre, Unit 7ab, for the tender care
extended to Kathren during her five years there.
A family Memorial will be held at a later date.
