Obituary

It is with great sadness that I announce Glenna's peaceful passing at the age of 67, after a very long and difficult battle with cancer. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Allen; sister-in-law, Janet Gilchrist; nephews and nieces: Greg (Maureen), Janice (Boyd), Patrick (Wendy), Murray (Debbie) Gilchrist, and Heather (Christian) White as well as many other relatives and friends. She is also survived by her siblings: Merna, Brian and Lyle Thompson. Glenna was born and educated in Edmonton, where she and Allen married in 1968. She gratuated from the library program at Grant MacEwan, and worked as a librarian, first for the City and later for the Province until her retirement in 1995. Glenna loved the outdoors and was enthusiastic about hiking, mountain climbing, camping, skiing and snow shoeing with Allen. She was also passionate about weaving and spinning, having been a longtime member of both the Edmonton Weavers' Guild and the HWSDA since 1975, where she has many good friends. She was also a member of the Canadian Society of Questers.

In Loving Memory of
Glenna Winter
