Obituary
Rev . Dr. Jack Towers passed away August 13th.
Jack�s first love was his family and he is lovingly remembered by Joanne, his wife of 63 years; children, David (Helen), Donna (Ray Tornack), Joanne (Max Porisky), Kristine (Don Purdy) and John (Patti Sherbaniuk); grandchildren, Drew (Christina �Gabby�), Mark (Melanie), Brianne Moore (Levi), Corie Tornack (Katherine Fraser), Lisa Tornack (Eric Nylen), Sara Porisky (David Babin), Alesha Porisky (Nejeed Kassam), Kayla Purdy, Taylor Purdy (Janice Hanson) and Clara Purdy, as well as seven great-grandchildren, Sophee, Layla, Charlotte, Michaela, Gavin, Gabriella and Jasper. Jack will also be missed by many loyal extended family and friends.
Jack was ordained into the United Church in 1951 and served as Minister in the communities of Barrhead, Ocean Falls (onboard the Thomas Crosby IV), Olds, Regina and Edmonton. After retiring from the pulpit, Jack served in the United Church Ventures in Mission and Planned Giving for 10 years, retiring in 1993. He was also very active in the SAGE (Seniors Association of Greater Edmonton), St. Stephen�s College and other community organizations.
Dad loved his outdoors sports: soaring, sailing, skiing and golf.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Riverbend United Church at 14907 45 Ave NW Edmonton, AB.
