Obituary
Hugh Kent, beloved husband Shirley, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 one month before his 90 th birthday.
Left to mourn his loss are his children: Doris (John) McIvor and their children, Shelagh, Andrea (Mike) Metcalfe and Ian; Karen (Richard) Douziech and their children, Sarah (Kenton) Gilchrist and Jeffrey (Ingrid); Douglas (Laurie) and their daughter Nicola; Lauralee (Glenn) Swanson and their children Jackie (Brennan) Campbell, Ross, Clay and Bonnie; six great-grandchildren; brothers: Jack (Denise), Mac (Sheila) and Jim (Shirley); as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Hugh grew up in the Marwayne area. He taught in the Edmonton Public School System for 25 years. He was a Mason for over 50 years and was dedicated to furthering the success of the Higher Education Bursary Fund. His interests included hunting, fishing, astronomy and geology. He was a scientist and life-long-learner who always valued a good debate. Hugh spent many happy summers with his family at their lake lot.
The family would like to thank the E.M.T.�S and the medical team of the Neurosciences Units at the University of Alberta Hospital for all of their care and consideration. Special thank you to Hugh�s family doctor, Dr. Neuls.
A Celebration of Hugh�s life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Free Masons Hall, 10318-100 Avenue, Edmonton.
