On August 4, 2014, Norma Edwards of St. Albert, Alberta, passed away at the age of 85 years.
She was born and raised in Edmonton, and married Ivan (Tom) Edwards in 1950. She was a determined and energetic woman. Norma moved many times, supporting her husband in his mining career. She enjoyed working with children during her years as a school secretary with the North York Board of Education. Norma was modest about her achievements, including being an accomplished seamstress, rug hooker and quilter.
She is survived by her husband and children, Cheryl (Dennis), Bruce (Elisea), Janice and Jeffrey; her beloved grandchildren, Michael, David (Beverly), Matthew and Allison; her aunts, especially Beth; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and her circle of friends in Ontario.
A gathering to celebrate Norma’s life will be held on Monday, August 11 at 2 p.m. in the Grandin Room, St. Albert Inn, 156 St. Albert Trail, St. Albert.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute and CapitalCare Norwood for their compassionate care for Norma during a difficult time.
