It was with a sad heart I read of Mary's passing. We are the same age so it is not unexpected when our time comes. I remember Mary as the Director of Legal Aid and my gratefulness when fresh from my belated graduation from U of A she hired me as one of her legal aid counsellors. I learned so much from her and her dedication to helping women in particular finding the legal support to deal with often abusive relationships. Mary had a loyal band of committed lawyers who would take on her referrals. Mary was ahead of her time in being an advocate for women by showing them a way they did not know they had. So I say farewell Mary remembering your strength, kindness and dedication. You left your mark. You did so much in your professional career helping others and as well as wife and companion to dear Fred. It was always a pleasure when we were together with you both. To dear Kim and Jim we send our heartfelt sympathy for your considerable loss. With love, Connie and Ted Kenney.
