I have very fond memories of Mrs. Awid and of the Awid family while growing up in the Parkview neighborhood. Throughout my junior high school and high school years, Mrs. Awid was like a second mother to me at a time when Patty and I practically lived at each other's houses. One of my favorite memories involves Mrs. Awid driving her brand new beige Barracuda with the panoramic curved glass window in the back (a precursor to hatchback vehicles). We two silly young teenage girls lay face-up in the back looking out of the window while Mrs. Awid drove with all three of us giggling like maniacs. It was a special time back then with such good memories. Patty, Linda, Cindy, Jeff, and Don--I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a family icon and a beautiful woman.
