In Loving Memory of

Roseanne Reid

of Edmonton
May 25, 2024

Toby passed away peacefully on the evening of May 25, 2024. Her husband, daughter, and other close family and friends were with her during her final days and when she passed.

She will be held close in the hearts of her husband, George; daughter, Carol (Quentin); two granddaughters, Cory and Erin; her sister, Lee Hunt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Jim; parents, Anne and JD “Jack” Bradshaw.

Born Agnes Roseanne Bradshaw, she grew up on her family’s farm in Brooks, Alberta, where she learned her love for horses and animals and earned her nickname, Toby. After finishing high school early, she left home at 16 and started her long and fruitful career at AGT/Telus, where she eventually rose into leadership at a time when it was very rare for women to do so. Along the way, she lived in Kelowna, Banff, and Calgary, where she met and married a dashing RCMP officer. Toby and George settled in Edmonton and had their daughter, Carol. She was a devoted wife and mother, and continued to excel in her 37 years at AGT/TELUS. People who knew Toby often say what a good judge of character she was, along with being a no-nonsense force, a kind and big-hearted friend, and a source of wisdom that many turned to when facing a tough situation. She was also a devoted Oilers fan and an avid gardener.

George, Carol, and the rest of Toby’s family and friends will miss her immensely and are very grateful for the visits, calls, and emails Toby received. They are also very thankful for the medical teams that helped Toby in her final two months. Whether at the U of A Hospital, the Glenrose or Norwood hospice, Toby’s medical professionals were caring, competent, and responsive. In particular, Toby’s family would like to thank Dr. Catherine Otto for her support and guidance to Toby and family during a difficult time.

A service for Toby will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home & Cemetery (52356 Range Rd 232, Sherwood Park, AB) on July 6, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.

Arrangements entrusted to Foster & McGarvey Downtown Funeral Home.
