In Loving Memory of

Leendert "Len" Den Braber

Jun 14, 2024

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on June 14, 2024, at the age of 86 after battling Alzheimer’s disease.

He leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly. Len is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane Den Braber; their children: Linda (Ken), Marianne (James), and Lenard (Leanne); 13 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Hilly Balmforth; a brother, Jan (Aleid) Den Braber; a sister-in-law, Corry (Tony) Vandenberg; and a brother-in-law, Robert (Louisa) Bruinsma.

Len was born in the Netherlands. At 14 years old he started working as a carpenter, was 19 when he had to go to the army for 18 months, and 21 when he came to Canada. In Canada, he worked in construction until retirement, first as a carpenter, then as a sales manager for a concrete accessories company.

In 1963, Len married Jane twice, once in Canada and once in the Netherlands. They shared 60 years of marriage. They were dedicated to each other and their children.

Together they enjoyed the outdoors. During their retirement years they went south with their RV exploring and volunteering for RVICS. Later they settled at Blackfoot Recreational Area working as summer volunteers.

Len was a follower of Jesus and is now home with his Lord and Saviour.

Arrangements entrusted to Foster & McGarvey Downtown Chapel.
