Margaret Fokkema of Sylvan Lake passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with kidney disease at the age of 76. While her passing is a tremendous loss, the family finds comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved husband.

She was predeceased by her husband, Klaas Fokkema; parents, Roelof & Geertje; and three brothers: Hans, Frank, and George.

Margaret will be dearly missed and always remembered by her children: Gloriane (Rob), Kimberley (David), Philip (Elizabeth), Amy, and Jered; seven grandchildren: Zachary, Noah, Brooklynn, Olivia, Danica, Isaiah, Jessica, and Ellie-Ann; as well as extended family and friends.

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the care team at Michener Hill Extendicare and Dr. Rautenbach for their compassion & outstanding care.

A Viewing will be held at Foster & McGarvey Funeral Home (10011-114 St., Edmonton, Alberta) on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Westlawn Cemetery (16310-Stony Plain Road, Edmonton, Alberta), followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:30 p.m. at North Glenora Hall (13535-109A Ave NW, Edmonton, Alberta).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Kidney Foundation in memory of Margaret.
