Condolences
Hello, My name is George Skaley and I have known Dick for over 25 years. We met after we had both retired. Our first encounter was on the ball diamond south of Kingsway and the airport of Edmonton playing slow pitch in the Edmonton slow pitch league. Then in the winter we curled at the Ottwell curling rink. I enjoyed badminton so later I invited Dick to come play badminton at Seesa (South east Edmonton Senior association). Next spring Dick asked me to join his foursome at golf.
Dick taught me how to enjoy golf and I certainly felt a great loss when he was unable to continue. But we continued to stay in touch by phone, email, and Facebook. Even though I work for Shell and Dick for Imperial Oil, we seemed to be on the wave length on world affairs or current events.
Dick was a special person and a wonderful (awesome) friend. Found memories forever.

Our sincere condolences from the Esso Annuitant Club! We had the pleasure of chatting with him at the end of November, when we delivered a box of chocolate mints, and had a lovely visit. Dick will be missed!

Dear Michael, Sharon, Marcy and Families,
Our deepest condolences on the passing of your Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa. It�s hard enough when you�ve lost one parent but when they�re both gone it seems the glue that held your family together is gone. Your Mom & Dad would want you to go on and enjoy life, being there and supporting each other. Remember the good times but look forward to more good times in the future. In the meantime, your Dad has found his happy place, right beside your Mom, maybe dancing to one of their favourite tunes. Take care of each other.

Hello to my O�Connor cousins,
I sure hope I didn�t use absolutely awesome too much in my notes to your Dad. I did worry a bit about my grammar as I grew up in the 70s in which there was little grammar instruction! He would have likely hated that exclamation mark. My Dad would have noticed too, as he has that grammar knowledge as the other son of Anna, he is just a little softer in his criticism. The more sensitive brother.
Having said that, your Dad had a real sweet side which I enjoyed as much as his tougher persona. I always wished that we lived closer as I thoroughly enjoyed all of my visits with Aunt Barb and Uncle Dick. Lots of vivid memories of our visit with all of you in the late 70�s.
When Grandma died and we cleaned out her apartment, Aunt Barb had us in stitches as she talked about Grandma and her �ways.� At the same time, Dad and Uncle Dick we�re rearranging grave sites and communicating with each other in their own, unique way that I may never quite understand.
Another time, when we saw Uncle Dick in Ontario and he had brought his glove and ball with him, just in case. We thought it odd at the time... now that I have my own obsessed ball player, not so much. Wilson and Uncle Dick would have got along like a house on fire. Will even has his deep, deep voice.
I will miss my Uncle Dick very much. My pen pal and beloved uncle.
