Obituary
Elizabeth Van Ginhoven passed away on January 21, 2016 surrounded by loving family.
She was born in Surhuisterveen, the Netherlands, on April 22, 1923. In 1946, she married the love of her life, Johannes (John) Van Ginhoven, and together they had six children. She and her family immigrated to Canada in 1958 and settled in Edmonton. Elizabeth had a zest for life, a lively sense of humour, and a passion for people, as was demonstrated in her 25 years as a volunteer at the Cross Cancer Institute. She had a deep faith and loved her family, her church, sunshine and flowers.
Elizabeth was predeceased by Johannes in 1992, and four siblings.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Hubert (Darlene) Van Ginhoven, Elsie (Bruce) Adema, Carol (Hans) Laan, Frank (Jennie) Van Ginhoven, Hans (Margaret) Van Ginhoven and Elizabeth Van Ginhoven; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and relatives across Canada and the Netherlands.
The family is deeply grateful to the staff at Dickinsfield Extended Care Centre for their compassionate care.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Christian Reformed Church, 13427-57 Street, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emmanuel Home or CapitalCare Dickinsfield.
