Obituary
It is with sorrow in our hearts, but great joy for her, that we announce that our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother has been called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She leaves to mourn 5 daughters and 1 son, Johanna, Ada (Jake), Irene (George), Helen, John, and Audrey (Tim); dear friend and daughter of the heart, Leny (Jan); 17 grandchildren, Seth (Melissa), Sara (Albert), Shari (Kevin), Nicolas (Laura), Erin (Jason), Nathan (Tracy), Jeremy (Amanda), Stephen (Sarah), Trevor, Candace (Jonathan), Nicole (Andrew), Shawn (Brittany), Geoffrey, Larissa (Mike), Gregory, Charmaine (Jesse), and Alana; 2 honorary grandchildren, Catherine, and Mark; 30 great-grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren; 2 honorary great- grandchildren; 1 brother, Koos (Adrie) van der Spoel; sister-in-law, Plonie van der Spoel; brother-in-law, Ben Zwaal; as well as many nieces and nephews, all of the Netherlands.
She was predeceased by her husband, Nicolas; parents, Johanna and Ruurd van der Spoel; son-in-law, Louis Bos; 3 sisters, Sjoukje, Ali, and Aat; and 3 brothers, Adrie, Gerrit, and Ruurd.
A Viewing will be held from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30p.m., on Thursday, March 9, at Foster & McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011 114 Street, Edmonton. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, March 10, 2017, at Maranatha Christian Reformed Church, 11905 47 Street, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Johanna may be made to Emmanuel Home, 13425-57 Street NW, Edmonton, AB, T5A 2G1, or to a charity of one�s choice.
