Obituary

Frances passed away peacefully on March 17, 2017. An Edmonton girl, born January 23, 1927, and raised in the Strathcona neighbourhood. In her own, quiet style Frances led a remarkable life continuing her parents legacy of caring for and contributing to family, community and the fabric of Canadian society. She was always there for family and friends. Her passing was preceded by her loving husband Robert (Bob) Reynolds in 2007. Frances is survived by her son, David (Wendi Struthers) of Vancouver; daughters, Anne (Don) Agnew of Edmonton and Susan (Joe) Ellis of Calgary; grandchildren, Graham Reynolds of Montreal, Sarah (Chris) Campbell and their mother Patricia Reynolds of Victoria, Mark (Carly nee Allam and son Benning) of Edmonton and Taylor Agnew (Colette nee Moreau and children, Jack, Oliver and Mline) of Edmonton. The daughter of politicians (Fredrick Casselman was a City of Edmonton Alderman before serving Canada as a Liberal MP and Cora Casselman MP the first Liberal woman elected to the House of Commons and woman to occupy the speakers chair), Frances made it her business to keep up with issues of the day and frequently penned opinions and guidance to the serving politicians. She was a model of an engaged citizen. Frances had many interests and a wide circle of friends: Royal Glenora members, Pigeon Lake neighbours, the Holy Trinity congregation members, Engineer Wives, Canadian Federation of University Women, her bridge and book club members, and friends from the numerous sports she enjoyed. Her list of contributions is too long to do them justice as she stepped up whether to give a friend a ride, to help with the Grandview Auxiliary Hospital, at the annual church rummage sale or to serve on a board as the Secretary or President. Simply she responded whenever she saw a need. Family thanks go out to the Misericordia Hospital (8 E staff), Home Care and special thanks to Luz Valdez.

In Loving Memory of
Frances Cora Reynolds
(Maiden: Casselman)
