Obituary
Harriet Wierenga died on 23 August 2017, aged 101. Throughout her long life, God walked with her, blessed her with many joys, and also sustained her through many difficult times, especially the deaths of her husband Herman; her children Andrew and his wife Carolyn, Gladys; two stillborn great-grandchildren; and, most recently, her son Herman.
She leaves to mourn her children, Dixie Vanden Born (Bill), Peter (Anne), and Jean Weening (Clarence); 13 grandchildren (plus 9 spouses); and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday 31 August 2017, at Foster & McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street NW, Edmonton. A private family Graveside Service will take place on Friday, 1 September 2017, followed by a Memorial Service at Inglewood Christian Reformed Church, 12230-113 Avenue NW, Edmonton, at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Herman and Harriet Wierenga Family Scholarship at The King�s University, 9125-50 Street NW, Edmonton, AB, T6B 2H3, or to Emmanuel Home, 13429-57 Street NW, Edmonton, AB, T5A 0T8, where she lived and was cared for during the past ten years.
