Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Helmi on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the age of 97 years.
She will be forever loved and remembered by her sons, Norbert (Maureen), Raymond (Debra); and her grandchildren. Helmi is also survived by her sister, Margaret Weber; extended family and friends.
Helmi was predeceased by her husband, Carl (1982); daughter, Ursula �Sue�; son-in-law, Dennis West; parents, Lambert and Anna Melchers and sister, Hildegard Cadel.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all the friends and caregivers, as well as support staff for the wonderful care and kindness given to Mom over the past 18 years.
Mom stayed very active right up into her nineties, swimming, cycling and was an avid walker. Helmi was very passionate about her Catholic faith.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., at Barrhead Catholic Church, 5210 50 St, Barrhead, AB.
Memorial donations in memory of Helmi may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
