Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen Thomas, while at home, on Monday, April 13, 2020 at the age of 62 years.
Maureen will be forever missed by her loving husband, Brian Thomas; brothers, Brian (Barb) Esler, Mike Esler (Rachel Ross); as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Keith and Edwina Esler.
Maureen spent her entire working career, of over 32 years, with the Edmonton Public School Board as a Teacher and Teacher Librarian, and will always be remembered for her love and advocacy for children. Since her retirement in 2012, Maureen enjoyed travelling, volunteering with her favourite charities and creating art and crafting, of which her well known favourite was bird house gourds.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, when circumstances will allow.
She will be missed dearly by all and remain in our hearts forever. The family would like to thank Dr. Jeraldine Chan, Dr. David Candler, AHS Palliative Home Care POD C and EMS personnel for their compassion, support and care.
