After their marriage in 1970, Bruce and Mavis lived in several parts of the prairies, settling in St. Albert, Alberta in 1991. Wherever she lived, Mavis was an active member of her community. From her roles in the Kinettes and K-Ettes organizations to the United Church where she regularly attended services and was a member of the United Church Women and book club, she made many friends along the way. Mavis enjoyed volunteering throughout her life for various organizations, more recently the St. Albert Children’s Festival and the Kids of Steel Triathlon. She enjoyed many sporting activities including badminton, curling and running. Above all, Mavis’ family was her pride and joy. She was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother, who immensely enjoyed her four grandchildren, always attending their activities and spending quality time with each of them. She was their biggest cheerleader.
