Obituary
Darlene Eaton (nee Cofield), born March 12, 1954, in St. John’s, NL, to Mary and Harold, died on March 12, 2023, at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, AB.
Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Harold.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Sandy; her daughters, Sarah (Damien) and Karen; her siblings, Charlie (Marilyn), Ruth, and Dan; and her 5 grandchildren: Sebastian, Oliver, Mason, Alexander, and Garrett.
Darlene was a loving wife, mother, and nana. She devoted her life to her family and friends. She loved being creative, from making up scavenger hunts (car rallies), knitting/crocheting, writing poetry, and throwing over-the-top parties; her creativity was second to none. Darlene also enjoyed playing Bingo, and a game of bowling. She will be remembered and missed by a large circle of family and friends from Alberta to Newfoundland.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Foster & McGarvey Downtown Funeral Home, 10011 114 Street in Edmonton. Cremation has taken place, and Celebration of Life will be held in St. John’s, NL, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated, 1300-522 University Ave. Toronto, ON, M5G 2R5.
