It is with sadness the family of Joan Dawes announces her passing on August 24, 2023.
Joan was predeceased by her parents, Davey and Margaret; two brothers and their wives, George (Pauline) and Bob (Bernice). She is survived by her sisters, Gail (Wayne) Miller and Elaine (Dave) Giger; brother, Lorne (Pat) Dawes, her long-time friend Leigh Carew, and many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Joan had a career as a Registered Nurse, primarily in B.C., which included being a Director of Nursing, as well as consulting with architects in designing new hospitals.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 7 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert.
In lieu of floral tributes, donations in memory of Joan may be made to the Edmonton Humane Society, or a charity of one’s choice.
