Obituary
Mike passed away peacefully on June 15 at the age of 85 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel. Mike is lovingly remembered by his three daughters, Maxine (Peter Moleschi); Kathy (Peter Woychesko) and Heather (Todd Wagstaff); grandchildren, Jared and Zachary Moleschi and Michelle Woychesko; great-grandson, Maddox; brothers, Walter and Ernie Bunka; sisters, Elizabeth Abriel, Sylvia Bunka, Elsie Martin, Nellie (Gerry Bealle), Natalie Valen (Bill Slicer); brother-in-law, Ben Sutley along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Mike was also predeceased by his brother, John and parents, Dmetro and Minnie Bunka. Mike was born and raised on the family farm just north of Aberdeen, Saskatchewan. He was the 3rd eldest of nine children. In 1949 Mike joined the Edmonton Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 488 Union and worked throughout the province of Alberta and the Territories during his career. In 1953 Mike married Hazel Mary Thompson of Grande Prairie, and they made Edmonton their home sharing almost 56 years of marriage. The family wish to especially thank the staff of Miller Crossing Continuing Care for their kindness and compassion over the past two and one half years while Dad resided in their care.
