Obituary
On February 27, 2012 Dr. John Armitage passed away at the age of 81 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Maithe; his daughter, Jennifer (Colin) Johnson; step-daughter, Renee (Teunis DeJong) Cochard; step-son, Darcy Cochard; grandchildren, Cameron, Darian, Vanessa, Jesse, and Colton; sister, Pearl; as well as many friends from the Quaker community and CNIB. John was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Olive Armitage.
John practiced medicine for many years in rural Alberta and was a compassionate physician. After his retirement in 1993, he and his wife moved to Edmonton. John has always had many eclectic interests, including reading, playing the violin, sailing, and volunteering at CNIB, Habitat for Humanity, and the Food Bank.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Foster and McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011 - 114 Street, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CNIB, Habitat for Humanity, or the Food Bank.
