Obituary

Inglis, M. Gordon

Gordon Inglis died on September 7, 2018, at the age of 82 years.

Gordon was born in Notikewin Alberta, and he grew up in Notikewin, Thorhild, Mirror, St. Albert, and Irma. Gordon graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta in 1960, and taught high school social studies in Westlock (1958-59) and Clyde (1959-66), before settling in Edmonton where he taught at Bonnie Doon Composite High School (1966-81) and Brander Gardens School (1981-93). He retired from teaching in 1993, and pursued a number of activities in retirement including providing care for his niece (Calaine) and nephew (Aidan), spending time at his cottage, reading, discussing politics, storytelling, and walking his dogs (Mick, Kanin, and Brandy). Gordon possessed a keen interest in history and a unique sense of humor.

Gordon was predeceased by his wife of five years, Joan (nee Arth), and his wife of 42 years, Gale (nee Guest). He is survived by his brothers Hugh, Ian, and Colin, his sister Isabel, his sons Doug, Robert, and Kevin, his daughter Colleen, and five grandchildren (Solina, Saesha, Amanda, Samantha, and Nicoal).

A memorial service will be held in Edmonton at a time to be determined.

Donations in memory of Gordon can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
