Obituary
 
Joanne Mary Huitsing, 63, passed away to be with her Lord on September 1, 2019 after an 18 month battle with cancer.

Joanne was born on May 4, 1956 in London, Ontario to Keith and Margaret Stelpstra. She attended Western University and obtained a degree in Secretarial Sciences and she worked for the City of Edmonton for several years. She married John Huitsing on July 15, 1983 and they had 5 children. Joanne loved cooking, baking, and needlework. She also loved being involved at church and at her children�s school. Joanne was an avid reader and book lover. She frequented the local libraries and always had many interesting books to read. She especially enjoyed attending her book clubs during the last few years.

Joanne will be remembered for her kindness, wisdom and gentle spirit. She has faced her illness with strength, and her steadfast faith in the Lord only grew stronger as she continued to give God the glory.

She is survived by her husband, John; and their children, Shannon (Brian) Bouma, Andrew, Gary (Rachel), Eric and Mark; and grandchildren, Jacob, Autumn, Leighton and Hudson. Joanne is also survived by her parents, Keith and Margaret Stelpstra; sisters, Teresa Linker, Marjorie (Rick) Vanmeurs; brother, Keith (Christina) Stelpstra; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Joanne�s family is grateful for all the support they received from family, friends and their church community.

A Memorial Service for Joanne will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11:00AM at Bethel Community Church, 14204 25 St, Edmonton.
