Obituary
 
On April 8, 2020, Adriana Vriend went to be with her Lord at 96 years of age. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her 6 children and their spouses, Judy (Russell) Scheideman, Harold (Nelly)Vriend, Joanne Klooster, Margaret (Arie) Bomhof, Corinne (John) Fernhout and John (Dawn) Vriend; 27 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, John in 2017; infant daughter, grandson, Shane Scheideman and son-in-law, Klaas Klooster.

Adriana was born in Schipluiden, the Netherlands and immigrated to Edmonton in 1948 to join her fianc�e, John, who had come to Canada a year earlier. They were married in Edmonton on August 11,1948 and were blessed with 68 years together. Church and community were important to Adriana and she walked faithfully in the Lord�s footsteps. She loved being involved in the family tree nursery business. Oma loved visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always had a game and jar of candies or cookies for them. Her hands were rarely idle and many knitting, sewing and crocheting projects will be precious reminders of her. Adriana was known for her generous spirit and inclusion of others.

Adriana lived at McConnell Place North for the past 3 years. The family is forever grateful for the love, care and support she received from their amazing staff.

A private family graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at the Little Mountain Cemetery.
