Obituary

Evelyn Awid-Caskey

In Loving Memory of

Evelyn Awid-Caskey

of Edmonton

After a long, well-lived life, our mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Evelyn was born in Elk Point, Alberta, to Hugh and Hattie McQuillan. She attended business school in Edmonton where her principal, J. Percy Page, recommended her for a job at the Blue Ribbon Company. It was here she met her husband, Mickey Awid. They were married for 47 years, raising 5 children. A few years after Mickey’s passing in 1998, Evelyn married Dean Caskey, whom she knew as a child in Elk Point. They enjoyed 19 years of marriage until Dean’s passing in 2019.

Evelyn is survived by her five children: Patty (Dennis), Linda, Cindy, Jeffery (Cheryl), and Donald (Frazer); her seven grandchildren: Michael (Esther), Ryan (Dana), Trisha, John Michael, Adrianna (Ben), Christopher, and Dylan (Elizabeth); her five great-grandchildren: Madison, Matthew, Jayda, James, and Mackenzie. She is also survived by her dearest friend, Mossie Pappe.

At Evelyn's request, there will be no service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Evelyn’s memory to the Cross Cancer Institute. (11560 University Ave, Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2) or the Alberta Cancer Foundation. (710-10123 99 St NW Edmonton, AB T5J 3H1).

Arrangements entrusted to Foster & McGarvey Funeral Home.
